Arctic climate: the atmosphere

The atmosphere is the highest variable media of the three – it adjusts relatively quick to changed conditions (e.g. in incoming sun radiation) and has a short-term chaotic variabiliy: the weather. Through waves (see Arctic-Antarctic differences) heat is transported into the arctic and affects the arctic climate. To clarify: the climate is the long-term average over the weather, which varies on time scales around 1- 10 days.
